The Springfield Blue Devils lost against the Whitmer Panthers back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Springfield had to suffer through a rough 68-33 loss at the hands of Whitmer. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Springfield has scored all season.
Springfield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kai Taylor, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Nate Green, who scored seven points.
Even though they lost, Springfield were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Springfield's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Whitmer, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Springfield will head out on the road to face off against Bowling Green at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Whitmer, they will be playing at home against Western International at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western International is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
