The Dunbar Crimson Tide will be home for the holidays to greet the Rich Township Raptors at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Wednesday, Dunbar faced Coolidge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Dunbar took a 73-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coolidge.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was D'Mitric Starke, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Russell, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Rich Township was able to grind out a solid win over Simeon on Sunday, taking the game 66-57. Given Rich Township's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Simeon is ranked 172nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dunbar's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Rich Township, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
