The Frontier Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Caldwell Redskins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Frontier has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Caldwell will arrive with three straight wins.
Frontier had taken Shenandoah down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Zeps by a score of 5-3.

Mikayla Bennett put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, Braylee Buck was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Evelyn Armstrong also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Caldwell had just enough and edged out Shadyside 8-6 on Monday.
Makayla Mumaw spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Caldwell got a massive performance out of Mattie Hessson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Hessson has posted since back in March. Mea Hendershot was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Caldwell's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Frontier, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Frontier has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Caldwell struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Frontier might still be hurting after the 12-4 loss they got from Caldwell in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
