Centennial is 9-1 against Shadow Ridge since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Centennial will square off against Shadow Ridge at 3:30 p.m. Centennial will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Centennial barely beat Legacy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Centennial put the hurt on Legacy with a sharp 10-0 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Centennial got a great performance from Kane Barber as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. What's more, Barber gave up only three hits, the fewest he's had over his last five matches.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Noa Oyadomari, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Jackson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Legacy only posted an OBP of .182.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Shadow Ridge's offense. They came up short against Palo Verde on Monday, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Centennial's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Shadow Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Shadow Ridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Centennial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for Shadow Ridge, though, as they've only averaged .202. Will they be able to contain Centennial's hitters?
Centennial beat Shadow Ridge 5-1 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centennial since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
