Video: Boss Tagaloa - Top 5 PlaysTwo longtime best friends from
De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), tight end
Devin Asiasi and defensive tackle
Boss Tagaloa, made their college plans public on National Signing Day.
Asiasi picked Michigan while Tagaloa chose UCLA.
One of the few four-year varsity players at the perennial power, Tagaloa is a polished and talented package. The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder is ranked the No. 106 recruit overall by 247Sports. He led the Spartans to a second-straight CIF State Open Division title and third in four years.
Tagaloa recorded 146 total tackles, 98 solo, in 42 career games. He was the most dominant lineman in De La Salle's 28-21 win over Centennial (Corona) in the state championship game. He had 11 tackles, two for losses, in that game. His college finalists were UCLA, Michigan and Washington.
Asiasi, who will likely play tight end in college despite his defensive ability, is 6-3, 270 pounds. He's rated as the No. 3 tight end in the country according to 247Sports. He also played defensive end and backup quarterback for the Spartans, who finished 13-1 and No. 1 in the MaxPreps National Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. Asiasi's college finalists were considered to be Michigan, USC, Alabama and UCLA.
