Eads got a massive performance out of Jayson Bletzacker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those six RBI gave Bletzacker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Spencer Uhland, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Eads always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holly only posted an OBP of .263.
Meanwhile, Cheyenne Wells came up short against Springfield on Friday and fell 9-4. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.
Bryson Hyle was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Ethen Garay was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
Having lost for the first time this season, Cheyenne Wells fell to 3-1. As for Eads, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eads has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .588. However, it's not like Cheyenne Wells struggles in that department as they've averaged .538. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eads was able to grind out a solid victory over Cheyenne Wells in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 12-8. Does Eads have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cheyenne Wells turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
