The Union Tigers won the last time they faced the Paden City Wildcats, and things went their way on Saturday too. Union really took it to Paden City for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-20 victory on the road. With Union ahead 30-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Leading Union to victory were Lexi Stahl and Chanelle Sutton. Stahl dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 assists, while Sutton dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Stahl has scored at least 25% of Union's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Evans, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Paden City struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Union racked up 17.
The win got Union back to even at 1-1. As for Paden City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Harman at 7:15 p.m. on December 12th. Harman and Union are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Paden City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
