Baseball Recap: Highland Sets Scoring Season-High Against Eastside

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highland). They were the clear victors by a 21-5 margin over the Eastside Lions on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have beaten the Lions the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.

Cole Studt was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Jayden Carrillo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Highland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Highland's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Eastside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Highland beat the Lions by a score of 13-1 on Friday.
