The Palmetto Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Hardee 60-28 at home. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Palmetto as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Saniya Moody had a dynamite game for Palmetto, scoring four points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Moody also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Solaura Glover, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Rihanna Frederick and Danaelle Pierre certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Frederick scored ten points along with five rebounds and three blocks, while Pierre scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Frederick posted two or more blocks.
Hardee struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Palmetto posted ten assists.
Palmetto now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Hardee, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmetto's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Manatee at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Manatee's defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so Palmetto's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hardee, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mulberry at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Mulberry is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54 points per game.
