Tri-Valley recap Oct. 23, 2012
Williams Valley extended the longest winning streak in Tri-Valley this week by beating Juniata, 27-12. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Vikings.
Tri-Valley took down Halifax 47-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Williams Valley's dynamic duo of Stephen Sedesse and Owen Daniel proved tough for the Indians to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sedesse threw for 144 yards and one touchdown and Daniel had 93 yards receiving. Brendan Miller helped Williams Valley's passing attack out by catching two balls for 43 yards.
Ian Buffington was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 218 yards on 21 carries as Upper Dauphin Area beat Juniata. Cole Reed also contributed to the rushing game with 109 yards on the ground.
The Vikings' Sedesse and Daniel have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Sedesse has thrown for 1243 yards this season, while Daniel, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 35 catches for 695 yards. Neil Bodley from Gary Klingensmith's team leads the league in rushing with 1234 yards.
Josh Howard of the Millersburg is only 65 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Howard has rushed for 935 yards on 123 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in Tri-Valley this week will be when the Trojans take on Line Mountain. As it stands, Upper Dauphin Area is in sixth, while the Eagles are in third.
The Indians made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,441 from 7,808. The advance stemmed from a 27-12 victory over Juniata last week.
