The Durand Railroaders proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 42) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Hill-McCloy out 69-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Brayden Joslin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Markell Tate, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Durand's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points per game. As for Hill-McCloy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Durand will be playing in front of their home fans against International Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hill-McCloy, they will head out on the road to take on Atherton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Atherton is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
