The Chapman Panthers entered their tilt with the Crescent Tigers with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Chapman claimed a resounding 45-0 win over Crescent at home. The result was nothing new for Chapman, who have now won seven contests by 23 points or more so far this season.
Chapman had a senior duo take command as Coleman Gray rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns and Bennett Smith picked up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Chapman's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. Crescent's QB won't forget Carson Seymour anytime soon given Seymour sacked him seven times.
Chapman's victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.5 points per game. As for Crescent, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Chapman will face off against Chester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Chester is ranked 39th, while Chapman is ranked 29th). Crescent does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
