The Timnath Cubs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Highland Huskies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
A well-balanced attack led Timnath over Brush in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Timnath blew Brush out of the water with a 53-16 final score. With Timnath ahead 31-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Highland scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Frontier Academy 89-49 at home. The victory was nothing new for Highland as they're now sitting on four straight.
Highland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Steinke, who scored 21 points. Steinke continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Morgan, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and eight assists.
Timnath's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Highland, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home.
Timnath was dealt a bruising 88-44 defeat at the hands of Highland when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Timnath was down 52-20.
