Newbury Park won against Santa Barbara on Saturday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Everything went the Newbury Park Panthers' way against the Moorpark Musketeers as the Newbury Park Panthers made off with an 11-5 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Veronica Wasserman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lily Johnson was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Skylar Komatsu was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Johnson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Newbury Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive games.

Newbury Park's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Moorpark, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Newbury Park didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-3 defeat against Rio Mesa on the 3rd. As for Moorpark, they have also already played their next contest, a 24-1 win against Santa Barbara on the 1st.
