If Fountain Valley was riding high fresh off their 97-30 takedown of Centennial last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fountain Valley Barons fell to the South Spartans 60-56. The Barons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Fountain Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for South, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fountain Valley will head out to face off against Corona del Mar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fountain Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Corona del Mar likes a good challenge. As for South, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
