Strasburg and Clarke County are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Rams will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
If Strasburg beats Clarke County with 12 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Rams beat Rappahannock County on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-1. With that win, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Ava Mayhew was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Strasburg let Karaline Brill and Addison Morgan run wild. Brill went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Morgan scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Morgan has posted since back in March of 2024. Patience Barton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Strasburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Clarke County didn't have quite enough to beat Page County on Tuesday and fell 11-10. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Strasburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Clarke County, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Strasburg skirted past Clarke County 4-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
