High Point Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Northeast Guilford Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. High Point Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last 18 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 52-14, which was the final score in High Point Central's tilt against the Wildcats on Tuesday. High Point Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.
High Point Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Eleanor Ilderton, who scored nine points, and Serenity Mac who scored three points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, Northeast Guilford was not quite the Storm's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Northeast Guilford took a 43-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Storm.
High Point Central dropped their record down to 0-18 with that defeat, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. As for Northeast Guilford, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
High Point Central was dealt a bruising 47-4 defeat at the hands of the Rams when the teams last played back in January. Can High Point Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
