The Central Texas Christian Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They fell to Round Rock Christian Academy 39-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Central Texas Christian of the 48-39 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Central Texas Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Brynlee Richardson and Abby Burt. Richardson dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, while Burt scored 14 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burt has scored all season.
Central Texas Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10.
Central Texas Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against the Celtics at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Holy Trinity Catholic comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 11 points in their last 11 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Reicher Catholic comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
