Dayton is 1-9 against the Greenwave since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Dayton Dust Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Churchill County Greenwave at 6:00 p.m. Dayton has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 16.
On Saturday, Dayton had to suffer through a rough 54-21 loss at the hands of the Indians.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Churchill County's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Lowry at home by a decisive 52-34 margin. Churchill County has struggled against the Buckaroos recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Churchill County saw an underclassman step up: Jada Anastasio scored 15 points. That was a full 44.1% of Churchill County's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Dayton dropped their record down to 6-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Churchill County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6.
Dayton was taken down by the Greenwave 52-8 in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Anastasio, who scored 21 points along with five steals.
