Timpview hasn't had much luck against Salem Hills recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Thunderbirds will challenge the Skyhawks at 3:30 p.m. Salem Hills took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Timpview, who comes in off a win.
While Timpview didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Highland on Friday. Ten seems to be a good number for the Thunderbirds as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Will Cannon made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Timpview is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Cannon was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Beckham Woodward was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Timpview: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cristopher Santiago, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Salem Hills didn't have quite enough to beat Jordan on Thursday and fell 4-3.
Guss Johnson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Timpview and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Salem Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Timpview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like Salem Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .354. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
