Softball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Minooka's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Minooka unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Plainfield North Tigers by a score of 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Indians have suffered since April 23rd.

Gracie Anderson and Mayson Carr stepped up to the plate in a big way. Anderson went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Carr went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Psinas, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Minooka's defeat dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Plainfield North, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minooka will face off against Yorkville at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Foxes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Plainfield North, they will square off against Bolingbrook at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
