The Savio Eagles suffered their biggest defeat since November 18, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Cornerstone Christian, falling 74-44. Savio was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-19.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cornerstone Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zander Parra, who scored 11 points along with six assists and three steals. Davis Mccray was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Savio has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Cornerstone Christian, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-10.
Savio will be playing at home against St. Andrew's at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Andrew's is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will square off against Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
