The Desert Hills Thunder are taking a road trip to challenge the Dixie Flyers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Desert Hills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

Desert Hills fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Snow Canyon on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 5-4. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Asher Williams made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Dixie came out on top against Crimson Cliffs on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Flyers skirted past the Mustangs 4-3.

Carson Hunt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Dixie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cannon Turley, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Dixie's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Desert Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.

Dixie's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Desert Hills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. It's a different story for Dixie, though, as they've only averaged .228. Will they be able to contain Desert Hills' hitters?

Everything went Desert Hills' way against Dixie in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Desert Hills made off with a 15-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
