The Morristown Yellow Jackets's seven-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Hagerstown as Morristown made off with a 54-28 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Morristown also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Morristown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DDanika Rutledge, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds. Rutledge hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jayla Keithley, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Hagerstown's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Avery Blunk, who scored 5 points, and Elly Cheeseman who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
Hagerstown struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Morristown pulled down 11.
Morristown's win bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Hagerstown, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Morristown will be playing at home against Franklin County at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Franklin County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Wednesday. As for Hagerstown, they will head out on the road to face off against Cowan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cowan is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
