While it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, the Olympic Heights Lions were not quite the Santaluces Chiefs's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Olympic Heights fell just short of Santaluces by a score of 31-28. Olympic Heights was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Santaluces apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devon Brenner, who scored 4 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Harrison Cohen, who scored 3 points along with 7 rebounds.
Santaluces got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Hamilton out in front who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marvin Michel, who scored 4 points along with 11 rebounds.
Olympic Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Santaluces, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympic Heights won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Stoneman Douglas at 7:30 p.m. on November 29th. As for Santaluces, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Park Vista at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Park Vista is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
