The Innovation Montessori Panthers kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 61-29 defeat at the hands of Tavares.
Owen Lofiego was Innovation Montessori's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Lofiego also led the team in assists with three. Lofiego held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Innovation Montessori's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Tavares, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Innovation Montessori will take on Orlando Science at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tavares, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pasco at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
