On Friday, Acalanes lost to Monte Vista at home by a decisive 62-48 margin. While losing is never fun, Acalanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while Monte Vista is ranked 40th).
Acalanes' lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gavin Dodge, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. Dodge scored a full 35.4% of Acalanes' points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Liam Krackeler, who scored 10 points.
Acalanes has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Monte Vista, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Acalanes will head out on the road to face off against Las Lomas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Las Lomas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Monte Vista, they will take on Woodcreek at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
