The Palmer Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They managed a 48-43 win over Bruce. The win was just what Palmer needed coming off of a 57-8 defeat in their prior match.
Despite the defeat, Bruce saw an underclassman step up: Laken Corbitt almost dropped a triple-double on 28 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. That was a full 65.1% of Bruce's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was A'toria Knox, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Palmer's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-11. As for Bruce, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-11.
Palmer will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Water Valley at 6:00 p.m. Water Valley is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Bruce, they will head out on the road to square off against Houlka at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Houlka comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
