Volleyball Recap: Bethune's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

While Bethune's win against Weskan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bobcats won by a set and slipped past the Coyotes 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their eight-match losing streak.

Bethune was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (103-101), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-21, 25-16, 18-25, 18-16.

Bethune's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sujeily Landaverde, who had 21 digs and five assists. Landaverde has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Killian, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Bethune was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Bethune's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Weskan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Bethune will head out to take on Idalia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weskan, they will venture away from home to challenge Dighton on Monday.
