The Thunderbird Titans won the last time they faced the Yuma Criminals, and things went their way on Thursday too. Thunderbird walked away with a 62-51 victory over Yuma. The win made it back-to-back wins for Thunderbird.
Despite the loss, Yuma still got an impressive performance from Andrew Mosqueda, who scored 13 points along with four steals and two blocks. Mosqueda hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jorge Moreno, who scored nine points.
Thunderbird pushed their record up to 14-5 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Yuma, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-3.
Thunderbird won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Greenway at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Greenway will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Thunderbird is ranked 59th). Yuma won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shadow Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Shadow Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
