Pleasant Ridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Potter, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Mia Ernzen was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Pleasant Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Jefferson County North, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pleasant Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Bears on January 31st. Oskaloosa is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Jefferson County North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Atchison County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Chargers are ranked 99th).
