Basketball Recap: Fox Chapel's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of five wins, Fox Chapel's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Neighborhood Academy. The Foxes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Neighborhood Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Defeat or not, Fox Chapel got some senior leadership from Ike Moser and Asher White. Moser went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds, while White posted 17 points and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moser has scored all season. John Rehak was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Fox Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Neighborhood Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fox Chapel will venture away from home to challenge North Allegheny at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Fox Chapel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season. As for Neighborhood Academy, they will head out to square off against Environmental Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neighborhood Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Environmental Charter likes a good challenge.
