King's Way Christian is 9-1 against Stevenson since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (King's Way Christian has six straight victories, Stevenson has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
King's Way Christian came out on top against Mountain View on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Knights took their match against the Thunder 6-3.
Reece Johnson was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Cade Horrocks was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Stevenson came up short against Fort Vancouver on Thursday, falling 16-6.
Kohl Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Briar Cameron, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
King's Way Christian pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Stevenson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Stevenson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: King's Way Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. It's a different story for Stevenson, though, as they've only averaged .242. Will they be able to contain King's Way Christian's hitters?
King's Way Christian took their win against Stevenson when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 16-2 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
