The Meadville Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down Sharon 61-47. For Meadville, this counts as revenge for the 71-65 loss Sharon walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meadville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucas Luteran, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Luteran hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Tykie Butler, who scored 16 points along with seven assists.
Meadville now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Sharon, their loss dropped their record down to 14-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadville will take on Erie at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Meadville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups. As for Sharon, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Slippery Rock at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd. Slippery Rock is coming into the match with four straight defeats on the road, meaning Sharon will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
