Baseball Game Preview: Jupiter Warriors vs. Wellington Wolverines

Jupiter is 8-2 against Wellington since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Warriors will face off against the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. Jupiter will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Jupiter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Leonard 12-1. Considering the Warriors have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Conner Sorge looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ryan Senecal and Griffin Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Senecal went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Miller went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Senecal a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Schwarz, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Jupiter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leonard only posted an OBP of .368.

Meanwhile, Wellington had just enough and edged out Palm Beach Central 4-3 on Monday.

Wellington saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cristian Goncalves, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Jupiter's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Wellington, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Jupiter skirted past Wellington 2-0 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
