Softball Recap: Windham Takes Down Ranked Gorham

Windham faced Gorham in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Eagles blew past the Rams 12-2. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Yani Kostopoulos, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also put up a stolen base, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Oakley McLeod, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Windham hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.

Windham pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Gorham, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.
