The North Eugene Highlanders's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They escaped with a win against Kentridge by the margin of a single free throw, 45-44.
Kentridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andrea Pop, who scored nine points along with five rebounds. Pop set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Another player making a difference was Kalia Washington, who scored six points.
North Eugene's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Kentridge, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
North Eugene will head out on the road to face off against South Salem at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kentridge, they will be playing at home against Kennedy Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
