KIPP Navigate College Prep lost against Summit Tahoma in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 95-32 score last time.
KIPP Navigate College Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Zephaniah Martinez and David Quezada Orantes. Martinez scored 12 points, while Quezada Orantes scored nine points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martinez has scored all season.
Summit Tahoma got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was David Pilling out in front who scored 16 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Pilling scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Salazar, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
KIPP Navigate College Prep's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.6 points per game. As for Summit Tahoma, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
KIPP Navigate College Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Summit Tahoma at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Summit Tahoma, they will head out on the road to face off against Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
