It was a good run, but the St. Andrew's Highlanders unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. Their2023 ended with a 60-41 loss against Geneva.
It was another big night for Maegan Riebel, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Geneva. The match was Riebel's 17th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kyra Petty, who scored 15 points.
St. Andrew's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Geneva, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Andrew's will finish 2023 at home by hosting Covenant Christian at 12:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Covenant Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday. As for Geneva, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Savio at 11:30 a.m. on December 29th. Savio is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
