The Ridgedale Rockets will venture away from home to take on the Madison Christian Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Ridgedale lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Waynesfield-Goshen, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Rockets blew past the Tigers 11-1 on Monday. With that victory, the Rockets brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Kiley Slone spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ridgedale got a massive performance out of Hannah Murphy, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. That's the most stolen bases Murphy has posted since back in March. Adyson Thomas was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Ridgedale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Madison Christian got the win against Worthington Christian on Monday by a conclusive 13-2. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Chloe Rice was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Rice was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Eliana Riley was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Lexi Groom also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Madison Christian is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Ridgedale, their record now sits at 5-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ridgedale has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Madison Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
