The Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past FAU High 94-62 at home. That looming 94-62 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Somerset Academy - Canyons yet this season.
Several Owls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Chamberlain, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chamberlain has scored all season. Austen Smith was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
The victory (which was Somerset Academy - Canyons' third in a row) raised their record to 10-13. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for FAU High, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy - Canyons will face off against the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Heritage will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive. As for FAU High, they and the Scots will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Saint Andrew's knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully the Owls like a good challenge.
