Basketball Recap: The Academy Skates Past Platte Canyon with Ease

The Academy won the last time they faced Platte Canyon and things went their way on Friday too. The Academy Wildcats breezed past the Platte Canyon Huskies to the tune of 66-28. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 28 points or more this season.

Trey Boychuk continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 53% from the field en route to 24 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Aguirre, who posted six points along with six assists and six steals.

The Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points over those games. Platte Canyon is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.
