Haynesville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Woodlawn-Shreveport with a sharp 19-0 win on Friday. Fans of the Golden Tornado have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Tiffany Byrd was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Addison Gilmore and Brylee Foster did most of the damage at the plate: Gilmore went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs, while Foster went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that Foster launched this season. Another player making a difference was Isis Cornelious, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Haynesville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, North Caddo lost 21-11 to Ebarb on Thursday. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Ashlee West was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Shaun Rambin was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
North Caddo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Haynesville, their record is now 5-0.
