Weeping Water and Elmwood-Murdock are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Indians will host the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Weeping Water's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, posting a 60-0 win. The Indians' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Weeping Water had a senior duo take command as Luke Harms gained 182 total yards and five touchdowns and Tucker Bickford rushed for 70 yards and three scores. Harms also punched in four rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Indians are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Weeping Water's run defense was locked in: Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer could only muster 2.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Jace Mcgill for the heroic effort on defense: he. Weeping Water didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.4.
Weeping Water didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mcgill and Kolby Nash. Mcgill is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Elmwood-Murdock came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Wildcats to the tune of 66-18. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Wildcats are ranked 134th).
Weeping Water better keep an eye on Dashiell Coleman. He was instrumental in Elmwood-Murdock's win, rushing for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 128 yards and three TDs on only 12 passes. What's more, Coleman racked up 134.7 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Brody Marsh was another key player, rushing for 88 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries.
Weeping Water's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Elmwood-Murdock, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Weeping Water has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 283.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Elmwood-Murdock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 275.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Weeping Water was able to grind out a solid victory over Elmwood-Murdock in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 16-6. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
