B District 2 (8 Man) recap October 29, 2013
Cyril's Sean Lowery rumbled for the longest rushing play in B District 2 (8 Man) this season in his game against Geary last week. Lowery ran for 85 yards on the play and finished with 94 on the day as his team topped the Bison.
Alex added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Central, 54-30. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Longhorns.
Cody Lewis was a beast in the backfield as Geary fell to Cyril.
Lowery was a key player and the best on defense this week as Josh O'Brien's team bested Stony Burt's team. The 5-foot-11 senior pulled down 1 interception and grabbed 1 sack.
Caleb Powell threw for 347 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 16-30 with 1 interception.
Powell put up the best numbers through the air as Oklahoma Christian Academy defeated Paoli. Powell's favorite target this week was Nathaniel Garner, who caught 6 passes for 187 yards.
The Eagles' Powell and Garner led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Powell has thrown for 1,096 yards this season, while Garner has 44 catches for 1,061 yards. Lewis from the Bison leads the league in rushing with 1,596 yards.
Jeffery Williams of the the Pirates is just 81 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 116 carries Williams has put up 919 yards this year.
An important game coming up in B District 2 (8 Man) this week will be when Matt Brand's team takes on Cyril. At the moment, the Longhorns are in first, while the Pirates are in fifth.
Waurika lost to Fox 56-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
