The Pikes Peak Christian Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Front Range Christian 80-40 at home. Considering Pikes Peak Christian has won four contests by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Pikes Peak Christian to victory were Isaiah Wehner and Eddie Harmon. Wehner scored 23 points along with five steals, while Harmon dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Noah Sachsenmaier was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Front Range Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haedan Morton, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Morton grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Woo, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Front Range Christian were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Pikes Peak Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Front Range Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Pikes Peak Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Thomas MacLaren School at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Front Range Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dayspring Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
