After losing to the Crooms Academy Panthers the last time they met, the Geneva Knights decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Geneva narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Crooms Academy 55-53.
Despite the loss, Crooms Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jayden Aristile scored 18 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was D'Elio Cestero, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds and 4 steals.
Geneva now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Crooms Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneva will take on Orangewood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Crooms Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against First Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
