Buhach Colony is 1-9 against Merced since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Thunder are taking a road trip to face off against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. Buhach Colony is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Buhach Colony took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Los Banos, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Thunder won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 6-5. Six seems to be a good number for the Thunder as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Madelyn Zamarripa was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Trindade, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Merced narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Atwater 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted against the Falcons since May 12, 2022.
Annalise Ramirez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Merced's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Madison Cabral, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Merced hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atwater struck out nine times.
Buhach Colony's record is now 12-7. As for Merced, their record now sits at 12-3.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Buhach Colony hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. However, it's not like Merced struggles in that department as they've averaged .318. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Buhach Colony might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Merced in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Thunder avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
