Make it 13 blowout wins for the Pahrump Valley Trojans this season. They really took it to The Meadows School for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-14 victory on the road. The win was familiar territory for Pahrump Valley who now have seven in a row.
Pahrump Valley was led to victory by Kailani Martinez and Paris Coleman. Martinez dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Coleman scored 25 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Heaven Cooper was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why The Meadows School lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Isabella Lopez. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, The Meadows School struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pahrump Valley racked up 21 assists.
Pahrump Valley's win was their 16th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.38 points. As for The Meadows School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pahrump Valley will take on Sports Leadership & Management at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Sports Leadership & Management will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Pahrump Valley is ranked eighth). As for The Meadows School, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon at 5:00 p.m. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
