Bridge City is 0-10 against Silsbee since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bridge City Cardinals face off against the Silsbee Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Silsbee will be up against a hot Bridge City squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Bridge City walked away with a 57-44 win over Lumberton on Tuesday.

Mia Sterling and Rylee Hebert were among the main playmakers for Bridge City as the former went 6 of 8 on her way to 15 points and the latter posted eight points and three steals. Hebert is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Kaylee Britten was another key player, putting up seven points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Silsbee). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Jasper 99-34. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.
Silsbee's win came from a few key players Bridge City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ayana Washington, who went 12 for 19 en route to 30 points and five assists. Those 30 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jena Warden, who went 11 of 19 on her way to 28 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.
Silsbee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive matchups.
Silsbee pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Bridge City, their win bumped their record up to 29-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bridge City has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Silsbee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Bridge City couldn't quite finish off Silsbee in their previous matchup on January 7th and fell 65-62. Will Bridge City have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
